LifeScapes

LifeScapes’ is an exploration of fractal patterns and biological
systems within the natural world. My background as a Nurse and
practicing artist allows me to perceive commonalities shared
between biological structures and the environment. There is a
place on the continuum of visual experience where the distinction
between natural and geometric form dissolves.

This collection of works features ‘LifeScapes’ that are seen, unseen
and sensed as we view our world. Fractals like bifurcating tree
branches, river tributaries, canyons, clouds and ferns, are
analogous with blood vessels, airways and dendritic nerve
pathways. These patterns expressed are painted intuitively and are the cornerstones that underpin the physical world and the landscape of life.
